I uploaded to the Dutch folder what I got so far. Can you see the files?
I can see the files in folder_contents view. I suggest that you
create a sub-folder for those files, instead of keeping them in
the main folder. You might also want a second subfolder for
people to put reviews of your translations, but that's up to you.
If you have trouble creating a subfolder, let us know.
Now I wonder. This is very rought first draft of those files. When I
polish up the files during the second pass, how do I replace those
files? Do I delete them and then create documents with the same names?
Or is there a better way? The last file is only halfway translated. I
want to store it there though, as an off site backup. Can I update the
file as I get further along with the translation?
If you want to overwrite the existing file (keeping the filename
the same), here is how.
When you are in file_view for a document (for example,
http://oooauthors.org/nl/0101GS-WatIsOOo.odt/file_view ), click
on the Edit tab just above the filename.
On the file_edit_form page, you can change the title and/or the
description if you wish, then browse for the revised file on your
computer and select it. Finally, scroll down to the bottom of the
page and click the Save button.
Then there is the matter of the web site. If I would like to see an
entire Dutch section to it, where are the files that need to be
translated for achieving that?
If you mean the words on the tabs ("User Guide", "Education",
"FAQs" etc) and other things at the top of the page... I don't
remember how that is done, but I know you can change the words,
and the number of tabs. Marko or Daniel and maybe some others
should be able to tell you, faster than I can look it up and
explain it. I think you will also have to have another level of
permission too.
If you mean the files that explain how to use the website, here
are the main files related to the English-language section:
http://oooauthors.org/en/authors/userguide2/contribute
http://oooauthors.org/en/authors/userguide2/resources/
The second item is actually a folder containing a lot of "how to
use this website" info as well as some other things that may not
be relevant.
Note: the German section and I think some of the others use a
different process, not the same as the English section uses. It's
up to you (and anyone else in the Dutch section) what process you
prefer.
You probably will want a different "Review List" (not the English
docs) to show up on the Dutch first page. I'm not sure how to
change what shows up there. (I think I have instructions here on
how to do it, but I've never actually done it.) Marko or Daniel
or someone can probably fix that for you.
