Agreed that the top margin is a bit too narrow. 2.5cm is good. >> 1) How do you insert a caption without the frame as it was done in the >> only >> figure in the template document? > > In a separate paragraph with its own style. It is good to cover it in the template howto anyway. > >> 2) Should OOoFigure be centred? it works fine as long as you place the >> caption in a frame with the picture, if not it is very hard to align the >> caption to the figure > > Many figures will be full column width, so the question really relates to > smaller figures and the captions for all figures. In general I would prefer to continue using the frame around the picture so the figure+caption is self contained and can be floated more easily. I realized that by adjusting the vertical orientation of the frame anchored to a paragraph unchecking the "follow text flow" box you can reduce very easily the white spaces at the end of the page still with a margin of flexibility in case you insert/remove a couple of lines or more. > BTW, I just downloaded OOo2.4.1RC2 and OOo-dev_m17 to play around with. > I think they won't become available until tomorrow here in Europe (at least on the UK mirror) Michele
