If we want to stay with inches, maybe 1/2 inc (1.27cm), if instead we are prepared to make the big jump to metric, then I would suggest 1.50cm for top & bottom, 2.5 for left and right margin. > > > 2) have we reached a decision on the title page layout? Yes, that should be enough. We will need to create a new style for the other OOoHeading2-like headings unless there is an easy way to exclude them from the ToC. > > > 4) Note (but that's not important) that we did not need to define a >> OOoToCHead style as we could have used the facility of OOo to add a title >> to >> the ToC with a user defined style (OOoHeading1 in this case). >> > > I think I originally made it the way it is (with "Contents" being a > separate paragraph in the file, not part of the ToC field itself) because > there was some problem with the ToC not always starting on a new page like > it should. Sorry. The English UK in the first paragraph is my fault :-) To finish one question on captions and one on the OOoFigure style 1) How do you insert a caption without the frame as it was done in the only figure in the template document? 2) Should OOoFigure be centred? it works fine as long as you place the caption in a frame with the picture, if not it is very hard to align the caption to the figure Michele
