The NormalUVModifier class allows you to modify permanently or not a
mesh using a map.
see it as an elevation tool, except it uses the faces normals to apply
the distort.
Works like say, a geometrical bump, you could make the earth and have
the continent elevated for instance...
It allows you to have a single avatar that can become thin or fat. no
need redo different ones
It allows you to crash the body of your rally car where it hits the
bounderies of the track...
It can work additive as well, and if you do not apply the mods, all
can be set back to original state
it also can be used as animation tool, thats the demo I've showed you,
add some curve information to the motion
and you can create pretty freaky animated stuffs
it can be used as modeling tool, think here, as a simple zbrush system
if you would couple it with normalmaps.
there are probably tons of stuffs you could do with it or with small
mods/addons to the code.
here a few more tests

and last but not released yet, because unfinished, it can work as a
resolutionmap as well
think here as a geometry becoming more complex only where information
is found on the map
which is again handy if you plan to make a linear extrude above this
result.
Problem is that when things are becoming interresting, the Flash
player let us down...
think here of the houses and elements you place along your track, with
the pathDuplicator for instance, it allows you to extrude axe of the
track
as a result each house, element, even if repeated doesn't look like
the others...

yes no problem with that, I ve got what i want,
but I just wanted to know your method.
In fact I never had a look at the NormalUVModifier,
and it seems that I've been missing something (and add me a tons of
works, to make such things works)
;-)
thanks !
