unfortunately, i think light objects don't like being put inside
container objects - they may work sometimes but it's not a fully
tested use of them

If you can try keeping your light objects as children of the scene and
you should have no problems. If might be useful submitting a report to
our issues list if you think you would prefer to use lights inside
containers in future - you can submit error reports along with feature
requests by using the following forms on google code:
