Hello,

I went through Ponta Delgada passports, 1906, and did not find Manuel
Bernardo da Silva. I found several Manuel da Silva's, and one Bernardo da
Silva, at least it looked liked Bernardo, but parents were not correct and
the wife was not the same. I did find the baptism record that you had
listed above, from Povocao, Matriz Mae de Deus. Just on the slim chance
that the Manuel B da Silva and Maria de Medeiros were not the same ones
you were referring , I checked the Arquivo Regional da
Madeira<http://www.arquivo-madeira.org/item1.php?lang=1&id_channel=40&id_page=285>

Matriz da Mãe de Deus

, but, of course, I could not find them. I checked variations of the
names as well. I even checked the Hawaiian Archives website, and still
nothing, until I realized that they cover the years 1843-1900. On a
positive note, I did find a Manuel Bernardo da Silva from 1881 emigration
from Azores to Brazil: maybe a relative? I will certainly keep my eyes
peeled for Manuel Bernardo da Silva I hope your search proves to be a
successful one.
Manuel Bernardo da Silva.
