Have you asked Melody Lassalle (Mel) who runs the Your Islands Routes web
site and list??  That's what she calls her Portuguese Hawaiian genealogy
stuff.

You do have your freguesia though.  You are able to research going back in
time in the Azores.  I know it's annoying missing a piece on your immigrant
ancestor.  I was missing both the departure and the arrival of my
great-grandfather.  For about 10 years.  It took me 10 years to piece it
together.  Well, not really.  I backburnered it for 10 years, and then took
another stab at it and was able to piece both ends together.
