Very good point. I do have my grandfather's social, so that's a good hint ... I'll look into how to get that. At least, it might let me know his county of birth, so I wouldn't have to pay for another record and get a No File Found reply. Could have been born in Alameda for that matter, as the other Alexander S Borba was in Oakland. And I'll check the Marin Genealogy Society as well. Or, I could see if maybe a small donation could help encourage the church to open their books.
