official release rather than during beta testing. So be it.
Kern - I'd have tested 7.9.x if I'd seen a release notification for it.
But I didn't see any such notification on the lists.
I doubt that it would have mattered, I tested the 7.9 stuff on Solaris
10 and 11 and eventually got it to work, but when 9 was released it
wouldn't build, trivial things like no longer finding the MySQL client
library when linking.
I haven't had time to take a proper look at it yet, the other 90% of my
time has been taking up 180% of the week, if you know what I mean ;-)
