Today, TextWrangler 3.5.1 became available. Similar to the iOS store on the iPad and iPhone, you see that there updates available, but you have to click on them to actually download them. Also, it appears you have launch the App Store application before the dock badge changes to notify you of updates. So I don't think anything just happens automatically. In addition, when I first installed TextWrangler from the App Store last week, it was put into my Applications folder. I have another folder that I keep third party applications in called "More" so I moved it, and that is the TextWrangler application that was updated seamlessly today, as it should be.
