Deborah Byron wrote: Dear Gil Please tell us who Frank Moody is. Frank is an Australian and probably the only surviving man involved in the early development of Radar, during WW2. He admits to being 98, but may be older. He travels around the Eastern States of Oz and used to visit the Land of the Long White Cloud regularly, but do not think he has been over in the last couple of years. He has been around the traps in the Dowsing/ Radiesthesia/ Radionics area for ever and knew many of the well known names from the fifties onward. He contributed to many newsletters in many English speaking countries. He designed several Radionic Instruments, as far as I know, all of the Base Ten type. Two distinctive things with his instruments. The first is the way in which the Rate is entered. Frank started with the last knob and entered units and then worked backward, leaving unused knobs above the highest numeral. (That will only make sense to know twirlers.) The other was the inside of the instrument reflected his electronics background. There are many more components than normal and a lot of fine tuning. I have a brand new instrument of his, but never used it, so don't know how it shapes up.
He gradually developed simpler and simpler instruments, eventually going to paper based ones, which I have mentioned before. He did a lot of work on Cosmic Pipes was in contact with the early folk like Hieronymus and Fridenstine. He postulated some "rules" about Cosmic Pipes, which seem to make sense to me. He went on to simpler and simpler devices, including Kites, which I have posted in detail to this list. As I have noted before, he developed an system using colour to do nearly any thing, without detail specialist knowledge. One of his really interesting devices is the "Moody Coil" which I do not think he actually discovered, but promoted it so widely, other people put his name to it. The moody coil is a single turn coil, which goes around the trunk of a sick tree, with an air gap between it and the tree, an antenna and an earth (ground) there is also an air gap where the coil meets. While the device sound simple, there are some rules to follow and I am to tired to post them to night and it really needs a drawing, which I am not equipped to post. Of importance is the mention of the "Front Door" in a tree. I do not know who first noted this, but Frank put a lot of importance on it. It is readily located by dowsing. It is on the East side of the butt of the tree, about 18 inches or a bit more from the ground. It is about the size and shape of a Playing card. There is an energy that travels around the earth, from east to west and is strongest at dawn (This is why so many cultures meditated, facing east at dawn. Also why serious dowsers face west when dowsing as the back of the head has a receptor for this that increases dowsing ability.) Frank believes this energy enters the tree at this point and when a tree is sick, he adds a Moody Coil to assist or boost it, with quite remarkable results. If Preps are placed just clear of the tree and in line with the Front Door, they will enter the energy field of the tree much more successfully than else where. The air gap in the Moody Coil is also placed at this point. Gil
