It is akin to rebooting your computer. It loads the OS, starts your network
connection and other processes.

I¹d check the logs, especially the dispatcher, to see if you can notice any
trends. Also, before doing a battery pull, try to disable and reenable
Mobile Network connection (via Manage Connections on the device). It might
be something as simple as coverage dropping.
