Currently, the "Multiple Users" section for the mac says: -------
Mac If you put j804 in Applications, the J icons are already there in the j804 folder. If J is somewhere else you can create alias links for the J icons in Applications as follows: in J folder press ctrl, click red J icon, click Make Alias drag j804 alias to Applications rename alias to just be j804 repeat steps for yellow J icon if desired Create symlinks as appropriate. ------ And I guess this would work, but it is not really what I have done, on my mac. (1) I did not rename the directory, so its name j64-804. I don't have a problem with this. (2) I one symlink. See below. (3) I have not created any aliases, and am not quite sure why I would want to create any. I *did* have to double click on each of those J icons and respond to a yes/no prompt before they would work properly. This is because J was downloaded. I had to do this twice for JHS, for some reason (perhaps because it's a web server), but only once for the others. I created a jconsole symlink from a bin directory in my $PATH to /Applications/j64-804. This lets me use jconsole from Terminal. (I also have started finding J shell scripts useful, but that's a topic for another conversation.) ---- I could update the wiki to match my use pattern, but would that be appropriate? Obviously different people have different ideas about the right way to do things.
