Yes, it works! And I am very happy. Thank you. I believe it is more than enough for this j601 release.
But in the future, I want everybody to be happy. If I draw a graphic with text, like the diagram or the cards, it should be adjustable but proportionally at any resolution, i.e. if it looks small, user (or by hints from system) should be able to make it larger text and graphics together, like grid does or Adobe PDF. Grid is surely using custom geometry to achieve the result. Instead, the existing glwindoworg could be generalized to gltransform and solve all the problems for positioning, zooming, adjusting for screen DPI and other fancier stuff. It should take care of glpixels too. And you can even throw away the rotation parameter from font spec. It is supported by Java2D and GDI+, which is much clearer and better than GDI. --- Eric Iverson <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote: > Oleg, > Rather than build a complete new linux wbeta I have just built a new > j.jar that adjusts linux dpi to 96 if the getScreenResolution is between > 72 and 96. > > Please download and see if you are happier with your linux fonts. > > http://www.jsoftware.com/download/j.jar > > ----- Original Message ----- > From: "Oleg Kobchenko" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> > To: "Beta forum" <[email protected]> > Sent: Sunday, September 03, 2006 11:29 AM > Subject: Re: [Jbeta] font sizes > > > > 2 3 4 5{".wd'qscreen' > > 1024 768 74 74 > > > >> Also your java -version. > > > > 1.5.0_07-b03 Standard Edition (mixed mode, sharing) > > > > > > --- Eric Iverson <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote: > > > >> Oleg, > >> >From your linux system with the bad J font size please give me the > >> result of the following: > >> > >> 2 3 4 5{".wd'qscreen' > >> > >> Also your java -version. > >> > >> ----- Original Message ----- > >> From: "Oleg Kobchenko" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> > >> To: "Beta forum" <[email protected]> > >> Sent: Saturday, September 02, 2006 9:19 PM > >> Subject: Re: [Jbeta] font sizes > >> > >> > >> > To fix the font size issue on Linux, is to adjust > >> > the passed value for the font size by 4%3. > >> > > >> > It is demonstrated with fontsize.ijs program at > >> > http://www.jsoftware.com/jwiki/System/Beta/Font_Size > >> > > >> > If you select the Adjust check box on Linux, > >> > then the screenshot from Linux will exactly match the > >> > rest of the platforms. > >> > > >> > Note: the Quality selection operates of font > >> > sizes twice as large, so it also proves consistency > >> > with geometry for the larger scale (up to 40pt). > >> > > >> > > >> > The similar adjustment should work for the Font Select Tool. > >> > > >> > > >> > --- Oleg Kobchenko <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote: > >> > > >> >> Our effort reminds of the legend about three blind men > >> >> and an elephant.
