OK, sorry to keep beating this dead horse, but, as I get used to SBS
7.6's VA processing, I keep running across things that look like bugs.
Anyway, this looks really wrong to me:
Using "Group compilation albums together" and "Only show tracks or
albums matching the selected genre for an artist" and the following two
albums:
1st Album:
Code:
--------------------
Title: Chamber Works - Peterková, Demeterová, Cibulková.flac
Album Artist: Bartók, B
Works:
Contrasts for violin, clarinet and piano, 3 tracks, artist: Bartók, B, genre:
l_Modern_Central_European
Trio for clarinet, violin and piano, 3 tracks, artist: Khachaturian, A,
genre: o_Modern_Russian
Suite for violin, clarinet and piano après 'Le voyageur sans
bagages'd'Anouilh, 4 tracks, artist: "Milhaud, D, genre: n_Modern_French
L'Histoire du soldat, 5 tracks, artist: Stravinsky, I, genre: o_Modern_Russian
--------------------
2nd Album:
Code:
--------------------
Title: Chamber Works - Melos Ensemble - D1.flac & Chamber Works - Melos
Ensemble - D2.flac
Album Artist: none
Introduction & Allegro for Flute, Clarinet, Harp & String Quartet, 1 track,
artist: Ravel, M, genre: n_Modern_French
Trio for Oboe, Bassoon & Piano (1926), 3 tracks, artist: Poulenc, F, genre:
n_Modern_French
Sonata for Clarinet & Bassoon (1922), 3 tracks, artist: Poulenc, F, genre:
n_Modern_French
Divertissement for Oboe, Clarinet & Bassoon, 4 tracks, artist: Françaix, J,
genre: n_Modern_French
Divertissement for Bassoon & String Quartet, 4 tracks, artist: Françaix, J,
genre: n_Modern_French
Suite for Violin, Clarinet & Piano, 4 tracks, artist: Milhaud, D, genre:
n_Modern_French
Contrasts for Violin, Clarinet & Piano, 3 tracks, artist: Bartók, B, genre:
l_Modern_Central_European
Octet (1931) - 1 Allegro moderato, 3 tracks, artist: Skalkottas, N, genre:
l_Modern_Central_European
Eight Variations on a Greek Folk Tune (1938), 1 track, artist: Skalkottas, N,
genre: l_Modern_Central_European
Trio for Clarinet, Violin & Piano in c, Op. 30, 3 tracks, artist:
Khachaturian, A, genre: o_Modern_Russian
Overture on Hebrew Themes, Op. 34, 1 track, artist: Prokofiev, S, genre:
o_Modern_Russian
--------------------
The side effect that I'm seeing, from having added ALBUMARTIST=Bartók,
B to that 1st VA album, is that I'm now seeing "Bartók, B" show up not
only in the l_Modern_Central_European genre where he belongs, but in
n_Modern_French and o_Modern_Russian too.
Browsing into "Bartók, B" in "wrong" genre n_Modern_French shows both
those albums, but the track listing for "Chamber Works - Melos
Ensemble" is empty and the track listing for the "Chamber Works -
Peterková, Demeterová, Cibulková" shows only the tracks by Milhaud!
Browsing into "Bartók, B" in the "o_Modern_Russian" genre produces
similar results.
Is this an expected side effect? That genres will get "polluted" by
ALBUMARTISTs to which don't belong to them if a VA album both gets an
ALBUMARTIST tag AND if the VA album is multi-genre too?
This seems like a bug to me, but the VA logic is complex enough that
I'm not confident that I'm thinking everything through.
I'd appreciate comments: is this a bug, or no?
So, in the
