I disagree. In LMS, an album is either:
a) detected as a compilation, has no AA tagging, so the album artist
is
the VA
b) detected as a compilation, has AA tagging, so the album artist is
as
given in the AA tagging
c) not a compilation and has AA tagging, so the album artist is as
given
in the AA tagging
d) none of the above
Quick Q.: is this your understanding of how LMS _does_ work, or how it
_should_ work?
How it does work. Erland is correct: in a), the VA isn't actually
assigned an album artist role in the db.
Hehe... ok, we agree there, if that detail doesn't make a difference :-).
But as I said a.) is only true if that preference is set (which is on by
default, thus most likely set in close to 100% of all setups). Without
that preference set you'd end up with several single track albums of the
same name by different artists.
