I had assumed that '/' was being used in some formal sense but in some way different from ';' (which some systems use as a formal separator within one tag) or '\\' as a multi-tag separator.
Playing mainly classical music I have always discarded almost all of the metadata from freedb, musicbrainz etc as being worse than useless, even the track titles. About the only tags worth keeping are the track and disc numbers. Anyhow, I had better stop banging on about this for now and leave this thread to its intended purpose. I'd still like a 'stream.flac' in 7.9 if feasible. I tried hacking some of the LMS code to change stream.mp3 to stream.flac but I don't understand Perl, or the functionality, well enough to get it to work. LMS 7.9 on VortexBox Midi running Xubuntu 14.04, FLACs 16->24 bit, 44.1->192kbps. Wired Touch + EDO, coax to Musical Fidelity M1 CLiC. Wireless Xubuntu 14.04 laptop controls LMS via Chromium. Meridian Explorer USB DAC to listen via Squeezelite on Vortexbox & other PCs as required.
