Just to offer a different perspective, I was not too thrilled with any of the games you listed. Yes, I know they're all part of the BGG Canon of games to worship, but I found Mystery of the Abbey and Arkham Horror a bit tedious.
For my wife and I, Puerto Rico was a bit too dry - to much feel of an automaton repeating the same actions (was the game playing me or was I playing the game). I recommend San Juan or Race for the Galaxy instead of PR. T&E was pretty good. Lost Cities doesn't do it for me. And Memoir to me is wargaming lite - there are other move, combat, and dicerolling games that I like much better. I actually recommend trying out Thurn and Taxis. We also enjoy Tikal, Hamburgum, and Stone Age quite a bit. Chicago Express and Acquire are also fantastic. --~--~---------~--~----~------------~-------~--~----~ You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "BGG Down" group.
