i absolutely agree.  do the simplest thing that could
possibly work.  ultimately, when you find that the
requirement has changed (and it will), you'll be in a much
better place to change the code/design.

blackbox is a place where (so far) sanity has prevailed in
software -- there aren't many left.  please help prevent this
potential travesty.
