I know this is an old discussion, but I've been researching hardware and software support for a multiple-monitor environment and I stumbled on this thread a bit late. I, too, want exactly what Bo has described in the first paragraph. I am very happy with the minimalistic blackbox environment I have, but I could very much use a second monitor with resource information such as log files being 'tailed', performance monitors and simply other items of code on another screen. I like the idea of tweaking my existing blackbox setup so that I can, after some edge resistance, drag a window that's been useful on my primary monitor to my secondary monitor and let it sit. This is simple and natural to me. IMHO, two X servers and similar solutions to provide this are functional, but not at all natural and appealing to me. -- ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- Maxwell Spangler Save Futurama!
