You will also need to go clear it in the original one - similar activity in
terms of finding the word icon on desktop, going into it's properties, and
then just use the del key in the shortcut key field, tab over to and hit
space bar on Ok button.

I tried that but the key won't take. It keeps opening up word and won't
reassign. Heather
I can tell you how to do this if it is on the desktop. Go to your program
you want to change. Hit Applications key and go to properties. Tab over
ot
shortcut key. There, enter the new letter you want and then tab to okay.

Subject: [Blind-Computing] reassigning a hotkey stroke
Hello, I wanted to know how to change a hotkey without it opening the
program it is currently assigned too so I can reassign the key stroke to
another program. I used shift control o for word but I want it to change
that key stroke to outlook instead. But it keeps opening word when I try
to reassign the key stroke!
