Alan,
I suggest you download and run a little utility called Hot Key Detective
which you can find on the JAWS Users Programs page
(http://www.jaws-users.com/programs/ ). It's item 32 under the Utilities
heading. This will list all the hot keys on your PC, including those for
JAWS. You can then easily delete or change them as you wish. This is the
easiest way to straighten out this mess. HTH.

Subject: [Blind-Computing] Creating a hotkey stroke
Hello Friends,
I have an icon for my JAWS 9 on my Desk Top, and when I installed JAWS 11
it put an icon also.
Now, I tried to follow the below steps to make a short cut key for my JAWS
11, as the Alt Control J still brings up my JAWS 9.
I followed the steps below and it made another icon for JAWS 11.
Now, not only do i not have a short cut key for my JAWS 11, but 2 icons
for JAWS 11.
Sorry to sound so lame, but which icon for JAWS 11 do I delete, does it
matter, and can some one please tell me how to make a short cut key stroke
for my newly installed JAWS 11.
Thanks so much!
I will very much appreciate it!
With Best Regards,
Alan

I can tell you how to do this if it is on the desktop. Go to your program
you want to change. Hit Applications key and go to properties. Tab over
ot shortcut key. There, enter the new letter you want and then tab to
okay.

Subject: [Blind-Computing] reassigning a hotkey stroke
Hello, I wanted to know how to change a hotkey without it opening the
program it is currently assigned too so I can reassign the key stroke
to another program. I used shift control o for word but I want it to
change that key stroke to outlook instead. But it keeps opening word
when I try to reassign the key stroke!
