Hi Charles,
As it happens changing the acid pits would be easy. DirectX has the
ability to change the frequency of the sound to make them deeper or
higher in pitch. That might be a very good alternative.
In fact, you have seen this done zillions of times in games like SOD,
Tank Commander, LW, etc. That is all David does to the beeps. he just
keeps increasing the frequency on the targeting beeps until they reach
the maximum pitch. In this case I would lower one to give it a deeper sound.
