Hi Phil,
Nice ideas, but for one problem. In the original Monty the ladders,
ropes, etc were all stationary objects and were there by default.
Michael has made it perfectly clear he wants this Monty to closely
resemble the clasic 5200 Atari game which I hope to attempt to do.
Where I am coming from right now is how to balance the original game
with some realism with a wooden ladder instead of a metal ladder. What
areas of the temples would be sand, stone, mud, dirt, etc...
Now of course, being a game there is always unreal elements like fire
pits, acid pits, etc which have to be there. In the original Monty there
was an electric wall. Hmmm... Wonder how that got in to an ancient temple?
If I do as Michael asked of me completing the original Monty game design
I would have to use the electric wall, but that is something that would
not ordinarily be in a temple.
So in the end how much should realism effect the over all game, or how
much of this should really be a clone of the classic Atari game?
