Hi Thomas,
I didn't mean to change the game but was mainly saying that if you think 
about it most things can be realistic like finding a metal ladder in an 
ancient temple.
Answer, it put there by the last guy to explore the place.
Even an electric wall could be explained.
1. A film crew was in to film the temple and left some live electric wires 
that were hanging on the wall.
or
2. An underground river was stocked with electric eels that would jump up 
and shock you if you got too close.
