Hi Jennifer, You can fit an isolater valve, but this would depend on whether the tap is on the outside wall of your house. if so, and you can get at the pipe work just before it goes through the outside wall you can fit an isolater of the type that can only be turned with a screw driver, from with in your house. If this is not the case, and it is a stand pipe and the pipe work is not easy to get at then yes, remove the tap handle. Warm regards. Martin Webster.
