Hopefully nothing will come crawling out of the panel when you open it.
OOH! that is scary! If you were in a winter climate I would be concerned about
a broken water pipe, but you'd also have water leaking and water sounds. Its
more and more curious. We're looking forward to the next episode. Although, if
the pipe to the shower head is not the main water pipe and just a pipe to
divert the water and the actual shower pipe is broken then that's your problem
and you would have much of a leak. Certainly some but maybe not enough to cause
immediate damage. Good luck in your discovery of the issue.

Well, it's not looking good. I tightened the screw on the handle, no
help. It wasn't really loose.
I took the shower nozzle completely off, no help. I found the piece
of paneling in my office that probably allows access to the pipes,
but I have an L shaped desk, a total of ten feet that has to be moved
before any more progress can be attempted. I must say, I just love
this list. Stayed tuned...
