Yeah, I have a plastic one but you have to be careful about putting
things in them, they will crack if the SO drops something big and hard
in it. Ask me how I know.

But JB Weld fixed it fine, except for the big brown/grey patch in the
middle of the white tub.

I could ALMOST see forgetting to torque down one wheel, but to miss on
all four does require some talent.

In my teen years I forgot to re-insert the hood pins on my Mustang
after opening the hood, you can guess what happened to the fiberglass
hood the next time I hit 30mph or so....

The speculation from people that were actually there is wrong
size/thread lug nuts .... which appeared to be tight ... well, at
least for 5 seconds or so ....

Dennis, et al:

(Rex Tener beat me to this on the BMW list)

Get the info straight. The person was sold lug nuts that were either the
wrong thread pitch and/or wrong size (SAE to Metric or vice versa). He put
the lugs on and they felt torqued. When there was real power put to them,
things went bad. This was the Dixie Region of SCCA's autocross. Here's a
thread with actual eyewitnesses:

Sheese, Dennis, you *used* to be so reliable. :^)
