As I recall from published reports, it meets no standards whatsoever, other
than the "four black things that roll" standard.

I thought in one of our intranet news releases it said something about
meeting european frontal impact. I seriously doubt it meets side or
rear impact though, these low cost vehicles have really flimsy seat
structures. I wouldn't want to know what would happen to your $2700
brand new car when some soccer mom runs you over in her Excursion and
then an F350 runs over you while talking on a cell phone.

Carlos.

In dealing with genetics and DNA, there's an area on one end of a gene or
section of a gene that is going to be transcribed into RNA that serves as a
marker to begin the transcription. As many may know, all of the body's DNA and
RNA is built up out of 5 different molecules, each represented by their first
letter. The two in question are thymine and adenine. This marker region is
often called the "TATA box", as the actual DNA sequence of the marker consists
of the sequence T-A-T-A followed by a few other elements. ;)

Yeah the company I work for has had a joint venture with TATA for quite
some time so that joke is already old around here, they're our
off-shore support. I believe Ferrari even off-shored some of their
engine work to TATA a couple of years ago (I assume engineering stuff
just like we do).

Cheers,
Carlos.

The temp controller (heat,a/c) in my wife's X5 has been acting up... sometimes
completely dark, other times lit but no fan and half the functions do nothing.
Just now yanked it from the dash to re-seat the connectors, and now it's lit
but no buttons do anyting. It's dead, Jim.

Anybody got any thoughts? Anybody know where I can get a re-man unit?

Subject: <E36> LR wheel bearing revisited
Message-ID: <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>

Recall a few weeks before the Holidays I took my E36 to a (new to me) local
guy here in Tampa to replace my LR wheel bearing... and that dude couldn't get
it out and instead recommended I replace everything (trailing arm, half-shaft,
hub, etc). I had him put everything back together, gave him $250 for his
trouble, and got the h3ll out of there. Drove it for another few weeks...

... until this past Thursday, where I gave Rennen Imports (advise from John
Sabatini) a try. I'm told it took two hours of heating & hammering before
they gave up and took the whole assembly to their press... which I understand
bent significantly before... BAM!... she released. HA! They had to re-thread
the end of the shaft, but other than that no worse for wear.

A little closer inspection this morning finds, however, they missed
re-attaching the exhaust hangers towards the middle (by the cats). Little
crap like that bugs me... but at the end of the day, at least they persevered
and got the job done.

Many thanks to John for the tip!
