Hi Rhonda and folks,

Majority of issues discussed on this list, though it is a very small number of owners of braillenotes, I and other tech support and trainers of the Braillenote line of products fine it is 95% end-user error.

if You only remember that Windows CE has many of the blame for your issues with file conversion. What people forget all the time, is that this is a PDA, I said a PDA, not a laptop or a desktop and will never be one!

HumanWare has pushed the envelope so far passed the normal PDA and we can do so much more than the sighted person with their PDA.

Lokc ups and not recognizing cards and lost data, haven't we all had that problem with laptops and desktops?

With the BrailleNote family of products, you don't need a computer ever, if you don't want to own one, where other accessible PDA's out there for the blind, must have a computer to install third party and much of its' software, which they don't tell you that.

I have had lockups on my other accessible PDA units by the competition, and it is for many reasons, windowCE or their type of software platform, etc.

The MPower does so much and for the small issues over all, which I have experienced some myself, I would never go to the competitions units with lost data, viruses, lack of ports, etc.

The things that HumanWare are doing to fix issues and what is coming down the pipe for version 7, is outstanding and all the new products they have released in the last 18 months, says something for bringing accessible products that are over all stable and reliable and made by blind for bllind persons, it is remarkable.

Dean Jackson, Jonathan Mosen, Maurice Sloane, and others at HumanWare are working their butts off to assist all of us in bringing the best products to us, and I had emailed to Russel Smith earlier this year telling him, how these folks are outstanding and should be complimented on a great job and in a off handed suggestion to give them all a raise too!

So voice your objections and praises, , but what I find most disturbing, is the over blown and outrageous statements people make that are not based on the whole facts or experiences, and then others jump on the wagon and tell more untruths. There are people on this list serv who just want to bash HumanWare and their products for no other reason then to cause issues and bad feelings among us. So stick to the facts and not guesses or roomers, and lets work to make these products and all adaptive products better for all of us, competition is very good for us and we have so little, lets not try to destroy the companies who assist us
Roger.

Hi, Jim and List:
I agree somewhat with some of the things you are saying.
However, what we all seem to be saying is that you must own a pc for these machines to work. Many people do not own a pc. Many people don't know how to use them. Are we saying that to convert documents, we need a pc to do that? I am quoting your next phrase: >The problem that you experience sometimes is the list itself. You are bound to hear more of the problems that a product might have than you will hear how well things are working with that product." You are right, we are a small percentage. If a few of us see problems, are you saying the rest are not? I can't spend that much money if I were just using it for the MP3 capability.
I love my equipment. I'll probably keep using my 6.11.
It's always good when someone has a great machine, but for those who don't, allow them to be frustrated. For those who have good machines, celebrate with them.

Kind Regards,
Rhonda Clark
