What a shame it will not do prescriptions too. They are just as
important as over the counter if not more. I always have to ask the
drugest to go over my directions on a new prescription.

Well, the add on is LESS THAN A THOUSAND DOLLARS WHICH IS A THIRD LESS
THAN GPS AND I'M GUESSING THAT THE BAR CODE SCANNER WILL PROVE MORE
USEFUL TO JUST ABOUT ANY ONE WHO LIVES ALONE OR WHO DOESN'T LIVE WITH A
SIGHTED PERSON.

This is not meant to be a comparison with FS. I'm just wondering if we
can ever expect to see something like this for the units we've invested
in.

It is true that Freedom Scientific offers this solution, but remember it
is an add on, and it ain't cheap.

Hi folks,
Maybe this is old news, but I just happened to visit the Freedom
Scientific web site today. I noticed they have a product which works
with the Pakcmate which allows the user to scan the UPC codes on common
items such as over the counter medications, food packages, CD's and
DVD's, and personal hygiene items. Not only will their system tell you
what it is and who makes it, but it will give you dosing instructions
for over the counter medications, and it will tell you who is in the
particular DVD you are holding.
Pretty neat ha?

I wonder when HumanWare will get around to offering up a solution to the
common everyday problem of knowing whether it's peas or pineapple, or
how much cough medicine to take.
