Leslie, this Engineers' reset is known as "The Service Reset". It is
advised that this is not carried out without the supervision of an engineer
(IE, without contacting technical staff) because it can lead to loss of
data. However, I would say that a number of us have done this (because all
other resets have failed). To do this, you hold down the record button and
the reset button and wait for the beep. You're best to plug in the machine
first because, if the battery is low, this will not work otherwise.
I hope you can get it going and will not need to return it.

I have had this happen to me a couple of times and have needed to do the
engineers' reset and all was OK.
Before returning your unit for any type of repair, it's worth doing this
and/or seeing if you can re-install the product key.

I had exactly the same thing happen to me when I installed 7.0 om my
mpwer.
This happened to me even though I thought that I installed the product
key.
Because of this, I'm afraid to install keysoft 7.2. I had to send my
unit
back to Concord. If I have trouble this time, I think that I will fly
to
Concord and hand deliver it. At least, that would give me a good
excuse to
visit the are where I used to live.At 05:10 PM 9/12/2006, you wrote:
Did you installed the product key before you upgraded the unit?

hi all list members. I recently upgraded to keySoft 7.2 and had my
unit
lock
up on me. I tried a normal reset and nothing happened so I did a hard
reset.
When Keysoft chimed, my mPower repliesL: "serial number required,
please
contact your distributor." I pressed help and it replies: "to exit,
press
enter." so i did, and it replies with, "cannot run this version of
keySoft.
I have my proper product key and .bin file, but it's malfunctioning.
can
someone help me?
kendell
