Rondha,
Sometimes, it does, but it depends on the battery condition. If the
temperature goes to high, the battery compartment will turn itself off, and
when it feels it is to low, it will start itself.

Your question is a good one.  I don't know if leaving the unit plugged in
ruins the battery or not.  I work on mine so much, it's just easier to leave
it pplugged in.  I generally use a wireless card, so my battery would drain
all the time, <grin>.
