Hi Joseph:

It's not an off-topic question at all; I don't have my good phone service anymore. If I get a chance to pop in, I'm going to try.

Rondha,
Sometimes, it does, but it depends on the battery condition. If
the
temperature goes to high, the battery compartment will turn
itself off, and
when it feels it is to low, it will start itself.
P.S. Srry for the off topic Q, but are you joining the
conference?

Your question is a good one. I don't know if leaving the unit
plugged in
ruins the battery or not. I work on mine so much, it's just
easier to leave
it pplugged in. I generally use a wireless card, so my battery
would drain
all the time, <grin>.

oh ok. I just wondered.
Thanks for clearing that up.
I also keep my unit plugged in when at home.
I've also heard this ruins the battery, is this true?

Hi, Brandon:

One of the reasons I don't always take my cards out is as not to
place wear and tear on my slots. Also, I don't store anything
in
my Flash Drive. All of my information is on my compact flash
cards.
Of course, I generally leave my unit plugged in, which many
people
don't.

I just want to know why would anyone want to keep cards in their
units if
their not using them?

Ottawa Canada

Dear Richard:

Yes I have noticed keeping cards in the BrailleNote drains the
battery faster than normal.

Back at the ACB convention this year, Jonathan Mosen commented
to
me that it is best to remove cards when not in use to minimize
battery drain.

Brian
