Hi, Carol,
I'm not talking about the default at all here. I have no objections
to that. I just want more flexibility. When I'm taking notes and in
the situations I'm usually in, the defaul insert mode is highly risky
for my notes.
I have commented about this before, by the way.

Evelyn,
When using the BLT, even at the point where you could choose which
mode to use, I never got out of the old way of doing things. Now,
though, with the BN, I'm totally used to the way things work and
really feel that it's time to move on with the times! Every
computer system I know now works with insert modes and you have to
say "overwrite" to overwrite a character or certain characters. The
most I'd suggest is that the overwrite mode could be changed so that
you can overwrite more than one letter, but insert should certainly
be the default, in my view.

Hi, Rhonda,
Well, the old Braille Lites, etc. had a continuous overwrite
command. Sometimes that is handy just as I still want an append mode.

Hello Flor:
I am not sure why an overwrite command would be used. You can use
Ctrl comma to delete a character, and then put the right letter
back in. That's about the best way I know to do it.
Best Regards,
Rhonda Clark
