Hi Carol,As I said earlier I'd like to see an append mode, but this wouldn't be the defalt. I'd leave the isert mode as defalt and make append mode an option.

Evelyn,

When using the BLT, even at the point where you could choose
which mode to
use, I never got out of the old way of doing things. Now,
though, with the
BN, I'm totally used to the way things work and really feel that
it's time
to move on with the times! Every computer system I know now
works with
insert modes and you have to say "overwrite" to overwrite a
character or
certain characters. The most I'd suggest is that the overwrite
mode could
be changed so that you can overwrite more than one letter, but
insert should
certainly be the default, in my view.

Hi, Rhonda,

Well, the old Braille Lites, etc. had a continuous overwrite
command.
Sometimes that is handy just as I still want an append mode.

Hello Flor:

I am not sure why an overwrite command would be used. You can
use Ctrl
comma to delete a character, and then put the right letter back
in.
That's about the best way I know to do it.

Rhonda Clark
