Brian;;
You are getting the two of us mixed up. I am the one supporting HW and
trying to convince Terri Panit and others to give HW time to fix the
bugs. I just sent your message so Rhonda would understand what I had
been talking about.
You are not the only one mixing the two of us. Someone else called
Terri Pannit, Terry Powers, actually mr. Powers. We are both females,
but I use y at the end of my name. It just got to be a habbit.

Terry Powers

Subject: [Braillenote] RE: The Back Translation Bugs Of KS 7.5 Build 17

Ottawa Canada

Dear Terry and list:

It is not true that Humanware deliberately broke the Back
Translator of KS 7.5 Build 17 to force everyone to use UEB or
Computer Braille!

The problem was caused by an updated component from another firm
being delivered to Humanware late in the development cycle and
Humanware not having a chance to test the functionality of the
updated component prior to the scheduled release of KS 7.5.

As it turns out, the updated component had serious problems,
mostly to do with back translation of grade two Braille into
text.

The folks at Humanware are fully aware of the problem and its
very serious impact upon BrailleNote users, especially those who
habitually compose, edit and otherwise work in Braille documents
then back translate them to send them as e-mail or for ink
printing.

Maurice Sloane stated earlier this week he expected the back
translation bugs would be fully exterminated, proved to be
exterminated for good and a nice shiny patched version of nk.bin
for KS 7.5 released within "a couple of days."

Having worked in software development, testing, debugging and
maintenance, I'd give them a few extra days as some bugs are very
robust and just won't go away when the Orkin Man and Terminex
arrive to shoo them away.

How about giving them until the end of this week, September 7?

That way they can test the darn thing and see if it really works
or if something else broke while they were fixing the back
translation bugs.
