Well for a 32 cell display this may make sense, but for a 18 cell, I may as
well have bout the new one two years ago. I want an official announcement
before I even consider making any decisions.

Subject: RE: [Braillenote] Re: Service Agreement For Transplant With
TiemanDisplay

Ottawa Canada

Dear Rose and list:

Check with Humanware as to the period of time the US $2,200 trade-up offer
to an Mpower with KDS display from a transplant with Tieman display is good
for.

If it is essentially a standing offer, you could bank the $500 or so per
unit you would pay for a maintenance agreement and either apply it toward
the cost of cleaning and repairs or a trade-up.

I realize this isn't the answer you were hoping for, but it is better than
nothing.

In Canada, repairs to access technology are income tax deductible as an
Eligible Medical Expense or if the unit is used for business, as a business
expense. Not sure about their income tax status in the USA or elsewhere.
Interested persons should check with the United States Internal Revenue
Service, or the income tax collector in your country.

Note that in the USA, state and city or county income tax treatment of
repairs to access technology may differ from the IRS treatment. Check with
your state, city or county Income Tax Collector for current information.

Note that to deduct the cost of repairs if it is an eligible medical expense
for IRS purposes, you will need to itemize. This may or may not be
beneficial for you. Consult competent financial counsel or an Income Tax
Collector nearest you.
