Hi,

I haven't needed to send my Apex in for repair. I received it in January. I have a qwerty model and the keyboard responds very well. Its response is much better than the qwerty keyboard on my BrailleSense Plus.

But I'm very disappointed some of the features which worked using the mPower and Classic don't work for the Apex. One is the search-and-replace feature which was supposed to have been fixed in 9.1 but it wasn't fixed at all. The other feature is none of the keyboard hot key commands for WindowEyes will work.

I was told by Tech Support that HumanWare is working with GW Micro to fix the second feature. However, there is no excuse for either feature to be broken.

I filled out HW's survey and told them what I thought. Whether it does any good or not, I don't know.

It seems to me that because the qwerty model isn't as popular as the BT model, it is treated like an inferior stepchild. Just because I choose the qwerty unit instead of the braille unit is no reason for me to have to put up with features not working when they work fin for the braille unit.
