I think I'm going to stick with downloading maybe fifty or so messages at a time with the PK for now. Then, I can always download more after reading those. For, I just don't want to risk having my flashdisk disappear again--well, not that downloading fewer emails at one time would be a guarantee, of course.
Anyway, do I understand this correctly? Looks as if the PK downloads the oldest emails first, not the newer ones, and that is certainly my preference. And, too, if I tell the PK to stop downloading email after the current operation is complete, then the current message and all prior ones are saved on my PK and deleted from the server. However, if I tell the PK to hang up immediately, then the PK stops where it is and the messages that have completed downloading are saved on the PK, but they are not deleted from the server. And, although guess it goes without saying from my description, I do have the PK set to delete the messages from the server after downloading. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Monica Lofton" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> To: "Braillenote List" <[email protected]> Sent: Monday, May 30, 2005 3:27 PM Subject: Re: [Braillenote] emails I downloaded 800-hundred this morning on the PK, but it kept locking up and I had to reset. I think the problem might have been that I allowed some e-mails that had pictures. There were much larger than my size limit; I won't be doing that again. I think this because, after I downloaded, someone told me they sent me a message that had a picture. I hope this is all it was anyway. I don't know the exact number, but if you have a large amount, it is better to use a PC. I found that I had 502 and off it went to download them. Around 300 or so it would lockup and I would have to press reset. I tried this about four times and every time it would lockup around the same which is 300 or so. I finally went and downloaded them on the pc and then the braillenote was fine after that in downloading email. Has anyone had experience in downloading large amounts of email and were you successful or is this a bug that needs to be looked at by Pulsedata? If anyone has some imput on this problem, I would appreciate hearing from you.
