Hi Paul, I'm using pmmail2000 here and it doesn't surprise me at all if the two programs handle header problems differently.
All I'm saying really is that I've experienced a few corrupted headers on the server and some which I couldn't even get off with the pc. I think the best way to judge the probability of a corrupted header or at least something corrupted in a given email message is to download, get stuck, then download again and see if you get stuck on the same message. Maybe even try it a third time. If you get stuck on message 104 each time, I'd say the chances are pretty good you have some sort of problem with a specific message. On the otherhand, if downloads just slow down approximately afetr a given number, and that slowdown varies a bit, it's more likely the problem is something else. It could be something to do with the way the email database is constructed, or maybe the way in which the database is accessed for adding new messages. It's really kind of a hard one to pin down and it takes a lot of testing. As you know, if the developers cannot duplicate the problem, it really gets harder for them to track it down and then to fix it. At least eudora doesn't seem to have a problem downloading them. But the bn does after around 400 messages. I am not sure it is a headder problem. I have 48 mb of flash disk space with around 31 present before downloading email. yet if I get past 2 mb of email, I have trouble as others on this list do. Why? I have plenty of memory. Even if you have only 16 mb of flash memory, why would 2 mb cause any problems with 14 mb still left to go. Could it be a problem with effective use of the system disk or something like that? Could there be some sort of memoey problem there? At 6/1/2005, you wrote: >Slight correction. At least from me.
