It is hard to tell exactly what the problem is from the information that you
have provided. The following questions can help me diagnose the problem, if
there is one.
1. Is it true that the problem started after you stopped using the timer?
2. How long is the machine on before you brew?
3. What is the steam pressure gauge reading when you notice that the
temperature dropped?
4. Is the Red LED light indicator light on (on the digital display) when the
temperature drops?
Any other info you can provide will assist.
Thanks

My beloved Brewtus I is acting funny...
Past few days the temp display drops after the first shot. (Set at 95)
Will drop to 89-90 after first shot, pulling water doesn't fix it.
Second shot it will rise again,
Normal by third shot and then maintains temps.
Lately I have been turning on the machine manually,
I was using a timer and before that I left it on, never any problems.
I have heard of a vacuum problem before, it this it?
What to do ?
