Hi Todd (and the rest of the forum),

I just came back from my buddy's chiro practice this morning where he has a BII
(based on my recommendation) and he's having the same temp dropping problems.
They started just over a week ago and as soon as he noticed it he called in to
WLL tech support where they advised him to "reset by tripping two red toggle
switches" I have no idea what that means as I've never done it before but he
said he did it and it didn't solve the problem.

The machine comes up to the set temp of 93 and holds there for several minutes,
eventually the BII starts dropping down in temp into the low 80's and stays
there, all the while the red LED light remains lit on the digital display when
the machine is not at 93.

I tried several things with nothing working. What seemed to temporarily fix the
problem was turning the machine off for a minute, and while it was off I set
the shot pull lever to the halfway position to allow a little bit of water
drainage, then putting it back into the fully down position, then turning on
the machine. The machine did a bit of gurgling and came back up to the 93 set
temp and held there for a period of time... but then started to slip back down
into the low 80's. I couldn't form a pattern between amount of shots pulled
causing an effect to speed up the temp drop or to hold longer at the temp.
Flushing, blind PF'ing, random combinations of push this - pull that - scrub
this - shake that didn't seem to have any long lasting benefits.

On one sequence I managed to get two shots off at temp (by using quick turnover
technique) the third shot was 90 and I didn't bother pulling a fourth shot as
it was down into the 80's after the obvious trends had formed.

Steam pressure reads good at approx 1.3 and brew pressure (on a blind PF) shows
9.75 bar. I didn't see any obvious leaks on the countertop anywhere and the
machine appears to be in good shape.

This is just a 'lending a friend a hand' attempt. Let me know if there is any
other information I can provide.

It is hard to tell exactly what the problem is from the information that you
have provided. The following questions can help me diagnose the problem, if
there is one.

1. Is it true that the problem started after you stopped using the timer?

2. How long is the machine on before you brew?

3. What is the steam pressure gauge reading when you notice that the
temperature dropped?

4. Is the Red LED light indicator light on (on the digital display) when the
temperature drops?

Any other info you can provide will assist.

Thanks
