Since I am in the US, I can not talk to the models being distributed in
Europe. I can say that I haven't seen anything like the situation you are
describing. I have always envied the 220 machines you guys get, but it look
like their are some advantages to being in a country that requires a special
version: our 120 puppies.
One of the nice things about having the original concept driven by the US
distributor for Expobar (Whole Latte Love) is that the machines that come
into the US must be consistent with his specifications. He opens one or
more samples from each shipment and checks it VERY thoroughly to be sure
that nothing inappropriate has been done to the machine. I haven't seen
anything like the insulation you are describing on any of the machines that
I have seen recently. However, I haven't seen a brand new one in over six
months, so perhaps Todd could confirm whether the US is getting any of these
strange things.

Subject: Re: Brewtus III-V problem- Isolation "melted"
Hi,
I have purchased a Brewtus 3 about the same time ago from the only
German importer after a long lead time... The Spanish factory seems a
little stressed... It is definitely the latest model but in my case
the PID is still/again red. I heard these changes in model
configuration happen more often than expeted... When I lifted the lid
for the first time I saw a really nasty boiler appearance with a
melted insulation as well... Do your boilers look like rusty and
dirty, too? I have complained to the seller but he states this is
always the case with the boilers and referred to the somewhat cheaper
price compared to other Dualboilers. He has a good reputation among
the German coffee forums and I will now have them polished, insulated
with better material and also the steam boiler will get a separate
switch. Here is a link to the guys webpage gallery where you can see
his "pimp my Brewtus" work.
How do you upload pics and where do you store them in this group? I
haven't been able to find the ones you mentioned in your posting...
Cheers
Sven

Hi everyone...
I purchased a Brewtus III-V a month 1/2 ago.... The new model with
the blue PID and new insulation....
I opened the Brewtus 2 days ago as a check-up, and found that the
steam boiler insultation had "melted",
It's not even 1/10 of the insulation thickness on the brewing
boiler....
I've sent some pictures on this forum, it's in the FILE forum and are
numbered: 6084-6085-6087
I know it's the latest model and almost brand new, but has anyone seen
this on the new Brewtus ?
I've contacted Zcafe(Canada) and I'm waiting for an response from
them....
Any help would be greatly appreciated....
Thanks...... Jan
