I did expect the solution to be a simple one but did not think it would be that simple. Ira, you are also correct that the PID light blinks only to pulse the boiler on and off.

Those connectors carry 10 or 12 amps, they must make a really good connection or you'll have worse problems caused by the bad connection. Please if the connections don't feel really good and tight, fix them.
