I'm starting a new thread because I think the existing one I had contained a lot of red herrings.
Here's the problem. The steam boiler works great but the brew boiler will not heat. We know the steam boiler heats first and then power goes to the brew boiler once the steam boiler is hot. Also, the water source from the brew boiler is from the steam boiler. I have replaced both the temperature sensor and the PID so I know that is not the problem. The PID shows the correct temperature, which is about 12 degrees Celsius. Now, if I run the brew head, the brew boiler will demand water from the steam boiler which is already hot. When I do this, the PID shows an increase in temperature, sometimes up to past 30 degrees Celsius. This makes sense since the brew boiler is getting water from the already heated steam boiler. It also suggests that the temperature sensor in the brew boiler is working. Here's a piece of information I think is important. On the PID, there is a small dot beside the temperature which blinks when the brew boiler is active. The dot is lit but does not blink. Does anyone have some great ideas on what to suggest? I've been at this for a few weeks and now its getting personal. It man against machine and I'm determined to get this thing working. I also suspect that when I finally do, it will be a very simple thing. -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "Brewtus" group.
