Hi Tege,

I went with Sharkbite for both the pressure reducer and the pressure gauge.
Sharkbite is so simple to use for plumbing. I have PEX tubing in my house.
PEX is plastic compared to copper tubing. Of course you cannot solder PEX
tubing like you do copper so you need a different method. One is to use a
crimper. However, Sharkbite does not do that and it works great. You simply
push the PEX tubing into the Sharkbite fitting and that's it. Sharkbite
also sells pressure reducers and gauges and they work the same way.

I bought them at Home Depot. Home Depot Canada does not carry them but Home
Depot USA does. In the spirit of international competition, Home Depot US
would not sell me the parts nor would they allow the parts to be sent to
Home Depot Canada. I actually had to order the parts online from USA and
have them shipped to a parcel service in the US for me to to pick up. A lot
of hassle for sure but for me it was worth it because I am not a plumber
and this system is truly foolproof. It is more expensive than other methods
but if all you're doing is installing a coffee maker, who cares? Perhaps
the cost would add up if you're doing an entire house using Sharkbite.

I believe another brand of fittings called John Guest is the same idea.
