Yeah it's a bit strange but I think I like the simplicity. The only thing
you have to worry about  it temp and getting your grind right. That said
I'm sure in a month, or six, I'd be wishing for more flexibility and then
I'd wish I had something else. I tend not to be fickle once I decide
exactly what I want and I've been reading everything I could find since
before I got the roaster. I will move the Brewtus to our family vacation
home or sell it. Probably won't sell it since it's been pretty much rebuilt
in the last year. The Alex is a great machine. I do mostly milk drinks now
and wanted all the steam I could get in a double boiler. Hopefully I made
the right choice. Good luck on your search.
