I'd argue that conservatism is more compassionate than
idealism at their respective roots. what's always
given me a lean to the right is the importance
conservatism places on truth, while idealism by
definition focuses on what could be. Adhering more
closely to the truth IMO is just *better* all around,
with few exceptions.
