As were several people of other nationalities. I consider this a major
reason why the terrorists should be brought before an international court,
not an American court (either civilian or military). The attack took place
on American soil, but the victims were citizens of various countries.

Not all that much better. The NA too has a history of murdering,
plundering, raping and things like that.
The only reason the US are supporting the Nothern Alliance is that they
share a common enemy ("the enemy of my enemy is my friend"). As soon as the
Northern Alliance has outlived their usefulness for the US, the US will
abandon them.

Another thing that was shown on TV here: people in a Kabul movie theatre,
watching some old Afghan movie about the resistance against the Soviet
Union. Detail: everyone was allowed in. Everyone, except women... Not
*everything* has changed... :-(
